‘Sport’: Real Madrid reach preferential agreement with Haaland

Real Madrid met this week in Monaco, with Rafaela Pimienta, Mino Raiola’s right hand man, and Alf-Inge Haaland, the father of the Borussia Dortmund player. According to ‘Sport’, the parties reached an agreement for a Real Madrid to have preference over signing the Norwegian.

It will depend on what the footballer wants. Real Madrid want to sign him in summer 2023 when Karim Benzema’s contract expires, to substitute him, but, if the striker wants to join the Spanish club’s ranks this year, the board led by Florentino Perez will be forced to seal his arrival.

Madrid would rather wait another season to not have to deal with having to pay the salaries of Haaland, Benzema, Mbappe and Vinicius up top. They would allow one of these to leave and that would lead to a fight between clubs for that player.

Returning to the meeting in Monaco, why was Rafaela Pimienta there and not Mino Raiola? Because Raiola is in Milan, recovering from health problems and he fully trusts the lawyer. Another thing: Real Madrid set people to Monaco to weigh up the signing of Aurelien Tchouameni, but while they were there, they also spoke about Haaland. Tchouameni could have been used as an excuse to be there.
