Ramos once again trained normally and is close to debut
Good news for Sergio Ramos, who could make his debut this Saturday in a PSG shirt. This Thursday, he once again trained with the rest of the group after overcoming muscle problems in the soleus muscle.
Club sources indicated that the former Real Madrid player returned to team training at the beginning of last week and he seems to now be going at the same rate as his teammate. Everything suggests that coach Mauricio Pochettino will include Ramos in the list for Saturday’s match with Nantes at 17:00 CET at the Parc des Princes.
That would be news because Ramos’ injury problems have prevented him from being in a matchday squad since joining the Parisians on a free in the summer. The 35 year-old central defender has had knee and thigh problems and that has prevented him from group training and playing.
Now, he sees more solid in the physical department at a time when Pochettino needs defenders as Presnel Kimpembe is also an injury doubt.
The Argentine is usually cautious with players who are returning from an injury so it is likely that, if performs well in group training, Ramos will start on the bench. He could then come on later on so that fans can see him for the first time.
On the other hand, those who did miss training were Messi and Neymar. The first has returned from international duty with Argentina and the coaching staff will be cautious with him. The Brazilian is expected to rest against Nantes so that he is available for the Champions League game with Man City in midweek.
