A setback for Pedri‘s recovery at Barcelona. Both ‘AS’ and ‘Sport’ confirmed that the Tenerife midfielder’s injury has not healed properly and that he will therefore be out of action for a longer period of time.

Specifically, Pedri will be out of action for three more weeks. A tough blow for Barcelona, who also lost Frenkie de Jong on Sunday.

It won’t be until after the November international break that Pedri will start training again with his teammates. He has gone from playing absolutely everything in a year to not being able to do so because of physical problems.

It was last Sunday when Pedri had a bad feeling in training, according to ‘AS’, and had to withdraw early. This Monday he underwent an MRI scan which confirmed that the injury is still there.

The source clarified that it is not a relapse as such, but that they do not want to take any kind of risk and that is why they are going to reduce the workload of the player.

The objective now is for Pedri to be fit for the derby against Espanyol in mid-November. He will therefore miss the games against Rayo VallecanoAlavesDynamo Kiev and Celta, as well as the international commitments with Spain.

The intention is for Pedri to be fully recovered for Barcelona‘s crucial game at Camp Nou against Benfica, which will determine whether or not they qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League.

Pedri will now have to slow down the pace he had been at until Sunday. Despite his youth, the fact that he has played practically all the games last season has taken its toll on him now.
